CERT Train-the-Trainer courses
Here is a list of upcoming CERT Train-the-Trainer courses in California. Click on the links below to download the registration form: · February 28, March 1-2, 2014 - Alta (Placer County) · March 11-13, 2014 - Lancaster (Los Angeles County) · March 18-20, 2014 - Hesperia (San Bernardino County) · March 26-28, 2014 - Pasadena (Los Angeles County) There are a couple of seats (2-3) left at EMI (in Maryland) to take the CERT Train-the-Trainer and Program Manager course onMay 12-16 (you have to take both). EMI will reimburse your airfare and provide you with a room. There is a shuttle to pick you up and drop you off at the airport. If you are interested in taking advantage of this please call/email me ASAP. CERT Program Manager Course There is a CERT Program Manager course scheduled in March in California. Click on the link below to download the registration form: · March 17-18, 2014 – iTEMA Conference in El Cajon (San Diego County). Note – This course is free to attend and is open to Tribal and non-Tribal participants. This course is listed as an EMI L delivery and participants will receive both a State and FEMA certificate. In addition, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is planning a CERT Program Manager course tentatively for April 2014. I will send out more information once this is finalized. CERT Resource Library We are currently beta testing the CERT Resource Library to work out the bugs. If you would like to be involved with this test please let me know and I’ll send you a username/password and instructions. Mandarin CERT I have received in inquiry regarding CERT in Mandarin. Please let me know if: · Your program as conducted CERT in Mandarin/Cantonese · Your program has instructors/program managers that speak mandarin and would like to help other programs conduct CERT in Mandarin/Cantonese · If you are interested in in conducting CERT in Mandarin/Cantonese and would like to be updated regarding this topic Social Media for Disaster Response and Recovery (PER 304) Due to the popularity of this course, we have coordinated several additional deliveries. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop). · March 10 – Riverside County Fire Department OES · March 11 – Concord Police Department (Contra Costa County) – This course is still pending final approval. Additionally, the Humboldt Delivery location is now set and will on the Humboldt State University Campus on March 21st. CERT Regional Workshop There are just 24 remaining seats left for the CERT Regional Workshop in Costa Mesa on March 6th. Big thanks to Deputy Wilson Lee and Deputy Douglas DeCesare for making this happen. iTEMA Conference The Tribal Emergency Management Agency (iTEMA) is holding their annual conference at the Sycuan Resort in El Cajon, CAMarch 17-21, 2014. As noted above, there will be a CERT Program Manager course here on March 17-18. There will also be a CERT session on March 19 on how to start a CERT program in Indian Country. This conference is open for Tribal and non-Tribal registrations. You can register for this conference here: http://itema.org/conference/. Note – While there is a cost for the conference, the CERT Program Manager course will be free to attend.
